Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do

TheVice President, Facilities is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the performance, safety, reliability, and long-term planning of BJ’s facilities and physical assets.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader will develop and execute a comprehensive facilities strategy that supports our restaurants, breweries, Restaurant Support Center, and broader business needs. You’ll oversee facilities operations, preventative and ongoing maintenance, capital planning, real estate and space management, vendor partnerships, sustainability initiatives, and a team of facilities professionals.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a balance of strategic planning and hands-on operational leadership. You’ll partner closely with Operations and other leaders across the organization to ensure our facilities support exceptional restaurant operations today while preparing BJ’s for the future.

How You’ll Contribute

Lead Our Facilities Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive facilities strategy aligned with BJ’s operational and long-term business goals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on facilities, infrastructure investments, space utilization, real estate, and brewery facility needs.
  • Establish short- and long-term priorities that protect our physical assets while supporting restaurant operations and growth.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Development, Brewing Operations, and other teams to anticipate and address evolving business needs.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, security, custodial services, landscaping, utilities, and overall condition of company facilities.
  • Partner closely with the COO and Vice Presidents of Operations to understand restaurant needs, prioritize resources, and execute facilities initiatives.
  • Establish programs and standards that improve facility reliability, minimize disruption, and support restaurant teams in delivering an exceptional guest experience.
  • Ensure facilities comply with applicable health, safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction during facility-related emergencies or critical infrastructure issues.

Lead Capital Planning & Projects

  • Develop and maintain a1–5 year planned capital replacement strategy, identifying future infrastructure and facility investment needs.
  • Lead the planning and execution of major renovations, expansions, replacements, and other capital projects.
  • Establish project priorities, budgets, timelines, and performance expectations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor capital investments and provide executive leadership with visibility into project status, risks, and future needs.

Optimize Real Estate & Space

  • Provide oversight and strategic direction related to property acquisition, leasing, and disposition.
  • Evaluate space utilization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support future organizational needs.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders on long-term real estate and facility planning.

Build Strong Teams & Partnerships

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing facilities team of approximately five team members.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards across the function.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, responsiveness, partnership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and service partners while establishing clear expectations for quality, service, cost, and performance.

Manage Budgets & Drive Efficiencies

  • Develop and manage the annual facilities operating budget and long-range capital plans.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness without compromising safety, quality, or restaurant operations.
  • Evaluate vendor relationships, service models, and operational processes to drive efficiencies and maximize value.

Advance Sustainability & Innovation

  • Champion initiatives related to energy efficiency, sustainability, and responsible facility management.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, systems, and practices that can improve facility performance, reliability, visibility, and cost effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize facilities operations and create scalable processes across the organization.
Qualifications:

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, real estate, or a related function, including 5+ years in an executive or senior leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success leadingmulti-site facilities operations, ideally within a restaurant, hospitality, retail, or other high-volume, geographically dispersed organization.
  • Significant experience developing and managing large-scale capital plans and complex facility projects.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, preventative maintenance, safety and regulatory requirements, sustainability practices, and real estate considerations.
  • Proven ability to develop long-range strategies while remaining connected to day-to-day operational needs.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets, capital expenditures, forecasts, and vendor relationships.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with executive leadership, field operations, cross-functional partners, and external vendors.
  • Ability to respond effectively to urgent or emergency facility and infrastructure needs.
  • CFM (Certified Facility Manager), PMP, LEED, or similar professional certifications are preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to BJ’s locations as business needs require.

Salary Range

USD $200,000 – $230,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.

Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, relevant experience, skills, and other job-related qualifications.
