PositionSummary The Vice President of Finance will be responsible for Hunterdon Healthcare Systems Financial Operations including Financial Reporting and Financial Planning. The Vice President of Finance will ensure timely and accurate reporting of the Systems performance and develop reliable projections and budgets. Primary Position Responsibilities Responsible for financial operations of all entities of Hunterdon Healthcare System - including financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, analysis, reimbursement, revenue recognition, grant reporting, and governmental compliance (tax, SEC and cost reporting). Financial Reporting responsible for generating financial statements and management reports in accordance with GAAP for all entities including: Monthly management reporting including variance analysis that allows managers to readily understand their performance and adjust to meet demand Board financial statement reporting Annual audited financial statement reporting including footnotes and single audits Specific financial metrics as requested/required Maintains chart of accounts Develops and supports other financial reporting systems as required (e.g., payroll and productivity reporting) Budgeting responsible to coordinating the development of annual capital and operating budgets, rolling forecasts and long range projections. Working with Financial Reporting and Financial Planning team members, maintain departmental variance reviews with departments on a monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly basis. Provide department leadership with insights on how to close budget gaps and pursue opportunities to enhance financial performance. . Working with the CFO, develop annual budget package for the approval of the annual operating and capital budgets. Develops pro-forma financial statements for business plans with sufficient detail to support post project reviews, monitoring, and budgets if the plan is approved. Account Analysis maintains a data analytics function to include: Analysis of new programs and post project reviews. Specific account analysis. Ad-hoc reporting Revenue Reporting work with Revenue Cycle personnel to insure that revenue and accounts receivable are valued accurately on financial statements and budgeted correctly in annual budgets Reimbursement responsible for all CMS/Medicaid cost account, state and federal reimbursement and grant related programs including FEMA claims. Stay abreast of current reimbursement regulations proving updates to the CFO and leadership annually as new regulations are proposed and finalized, File CMS and Medicaid cost reports, working with external consultants on the optimization of cost reports. Provide periodic education to leadership on reimbursement and updates on regulations. Grant Reporting grant compliance and reporting as required by grantors Tax, Cost and SEC reporting responsible for all tax reporting, CMS/Medicaid require d cost reporting and SEC reporting General: Periodically reviews and develops policies and procedures related to finance and accounting functions. Manage personnel, employee development and role definitions to achieve goals and maintain a strong understanding of GAAP requirements among the team. Keeps up on new accounting pronouncements and recommends implementation Assists in special projects as directed. Develops and presents matters requiring the decision of the CFO. Provides advice on financial matters and other matters as requested by the CFO. May be asked to volunteer from time to time in support of hospital events and activities Qualifications Minimum Education: Required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance Preferred: Masters Degree in Business Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation): Required: Ten years progressive financial/supervisory health-care experience required. Preferred: License, Registry or Certification: Required: Preferred: CPA and HFMA or other healthcare fellowship Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities: Required: Significant knowledge of main frame information systems and operations.
