Vice President for Technology

QED Systems, LLC, (QED) is currently recruiting for a Vice President for Technology to join our team on Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD.

The Vice President for Technology reports directly to the President of QED and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team. This leader shapes and executes technology-driven growth strategies that expand QED's presence within the U.S. Army while collaborating across the Peerless enterprise to accelerate growth in the Air Force, Navy, and broader Federal markets. Working closely with customers, business development, engineering subject matter experts, and program leadership, the Vice President for Technology develops mission-focused solutions that address complex operational challenges and evolving customer requirements. This executive plays a pivotal role in customer engagement, opportunity shaping, capture strategy, proposal development, technical risk reduction, and the transition of advanced capabilities from concept through deployment in support of the warfighter.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strategic business acumen, with demonstrated experience in Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems, Electronic Warfare (EW), and Radio Frequency (RF) communication modeling and simulation. Applying this expertise, the Vice President for Technology designs resilient, interoperable, multi-domain solutions that align emerging technologies with mission needs and customer priorities. The successful candidate is an accomplished growth leader with extensive Army market knowledge, established customer relationships across the defense community, and a record of translating technical capabilities into differentiated, winning business opportunities that drive long-term growth for QED Systems and the Peerless enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & Customer Engagement:

• Develop and execute a growth strategy that expands revenue, technical capabilities, and market position within the Army, supporting enterprise growth initiatives across Peerless.
• Build and maintain a qualified pipeline aligned with QED/Peerless annual strategic planning objectives.
• Identify, qualify, and mature new business opportunities from early customer engagement through contract award.
• Lead capture efforts for strategic pursuits, shaping opportunities and positioning the company for success prior to solicitation release.
• Organize and lead cross-functional teams that develop compliant, differentiated proposal responses.
• Establish executive relationships with customers, acquisition organizations, industry partners, and strategic teammates.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding mission challenges and aligning QED/Peerless capabilities to emerging requirements.
• Achieve annual bookings and revenue objectives established through the strategic planning process.

Solutions & Technology Leadership:

• Design and mature differentiated solution offerings that apply the company's expertise across electronic warfare, systems engineering, cyber, digital engineering, AI/ML, and modeling and simulation.
• Translate customer mission challenges into technical solution strategies, then own the resulting architecture through proposal and transition.
• Identify strategic technology investments that strengthen competitive positioning and help shape the company's technology roadmap accordingly.
• Direct Internal Research and Development (IR&D) priorities toward customer relevance, technical differentiation, and measurable return on investment.

Enterprise Collaboration (One Peerless):

• Partner with leadership across QED and Peerless to identify enterprise growth opportunities that combine complementary capabilities.
• Connect technical experts, business leaders, and program teams across Army, Air Force, Navy, and corporate organizations to build integrated solutions that differentiate QED/Peerless in the marketplace.

Business Operations Leadership:

• Partner with the President of QED Systems to drive profitable growth across the QED solutions portfolio.
• Validate that solution strategies are executable and scalable by testing them against program execution capacity and operational constraints before proposal submission.
• Represent QED and Peerless at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and strategic partner engagements.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge and expertise across the technical areas central to this role, including Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) systems, Electronic Warfare (EW), Radio Frequency (RF) communication modeling and simulation, systems engineering, cyber, digital engineering, and AI/ML.
• Experience capturing and executing large development programs.
• Significant experience supporting capture activities, including chairing or participating in Gate Reviews, writing specific sections of proposals, and providing preliminary technical guidance for solutions.
• Experience developing and presenting technical white papers, briefings, and demonstrations for internal and external clients and stakeholders on program growth strategies and solutioning efforts.
• Experience assessing, quantifying, and mitigating technical risk in program execution.
• Experience developing technology, strategy, and investment roadmaps.
• Ability to influence and persuade others, and to handle difficult negotiations requiring a well-developed sense of strategy.
• Experience engaging Army, Air Force, Navy, and broader Federal customers on science and technology and research and development priorities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking.
• Team-oriented, with a strong desire to be an active, long-term participant in company growth.
• Ability to mentor, lead, and promote talent.

Required Clearance:

ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret, Top Secret with ability to obtain SCI preferred.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in engineering or scientific discipline, with expertise in systems engineering, sensors, simulation, military systems, or phenomenology required
• At least twelve (12) years of experience in science, technology, research, and development, building capabilities, products, and technology with military utility required.

Travel:

Up to 25% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment:

This position will be located at QED offices at APG, with a hybrid schedule.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.

Estimated Salary Range: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00, annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for fully qualified candidates for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors. The final offer amount may vary.
