    Are you a results-driven engineering leader who can masterfully balance bleeding-edge technical innovation with strict operational execution across multiple engineering fields?

    A leading manufacturer of specialized embedded computing equipment and open-standard rugged hardware is seeking a VP, Hardware & Systems Engineering. Acting as an essential partner to the executive management team, you will direct the technical operations of hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, and validation engineering teams. In this role, you will govern the corporate research and development roadmap, optimize engineering throughput, and ensure that all infrastructure configurations achieve absolute compliance and market relevance. This position provides a unique opportunity to lead organizational scaling and transformation within a highly sophisticated, collaborative technical ecosystem.
     

    Key Responsibilities
    • Implement a data-driven portfolio management strategy to direct engineering resources toward high-impact development initiatives.
    • Make clear technical and business tradeoffs to balance ambitious product innovation with baseline financial discipline.
    • Streamline engineering decision paths and tooling strategies to reduce cycle times and accelerate product speed-to-market.
    • Lead multi-disciplinary engineering managers and teams to consistently meet strict project schedules and eliminate operational bottleneck variables.
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and global strategy groups to ensure product architectures perfectly match evolving customer requirements.
    • Direct the implementation, administration, and auditing of ISO compliance policies and quality assurance procedures.
    • Champion a culture of high performance, transparent communication, accountability, and continuous workflow improvement.
     

    Core Qualifications
    • Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a matching technical discipline.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience.
    • Significant technical expertise in ruggedized hardware, embedded computing, or defense electronics.
    • Demonstrated success tracking performance metrics and operational KPIs tied directly to business delivery outcomes.
    • Experience using PLM and ERP enterprise systems to run capacity planning, budget forecasting, and performance management.
    • Deep understanding of ITAR frameworks and related defense-grade compliance criteria.
    • Elite organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead by influence across a matrixed environment.
