District Partners is working with a high-growth technology company in the greater Washington, DC region that is entering a significant new stage of scale. Enterprise applications and AI are becoming central to how the business operates, and the company needs a technology leader who can connect the two rather than treat them as separate initiatives. This is not a traditional infrastructure-first VP of IT role. You will have the opportunity to reshape the enterprise application ecosystem, advance meaningful AI initiatives already underway, and build the broader technology organization for where the company is going next.

The Basics

This is an established technology company with a growing global business and increasingly complex internal operations. The next phase of its technology strategy is heavily focused on creating a more connected enterprise across the systems supporting finance, revenue, people, legal, collaboration, data, and other core business functions.

AI is an equally important part of the mandate. The company is already investing in AI and automation internally, and this leader will determine how those capabilities evolve, where they can create measurable business value, and how they become part of the broader enterprise architecture. This is a senior business leadership role with significant influence over how technology supports the company's continued growth.

What You'll Be Owning

• Shape the enterprise applications strategy, rationalizing and connecting major business platforms to create a more scalable architecture and stronger foundation for growth.
• Lead the next stage of enterprise AI adoption, building on work already underway and identifying where AI, automation, and emerging capabilities can materially improve workflows and business operations.
• Strengthen the connection between applications, integrations, data, analytics, and automation to improve information flow, decision-making, and the overall effectiveness of the enterprise technology environment.
• Build the future-state IT operating model, including organizational design, talent, service delivery, infrastructure, digital workplace, and the capabilities needed as the company becomes larger and more complex.
• Modernize global technology operations while improving service management, support, vendor governance, and operating standards.
• Develop scalable approaches for integrating technology as the business evolves through continued growth, investment, and potential acquisition activity.

The Environment

There is a real foundation to build from, including an existing team, established enterprise platforms, and active AI initiatives. At the same time, the business is reaching a point where applications, data, automation, and the broader IT organization need to operate as a more cohesive enterprise capability. This leader will have meaningful latitude to assess what exists, preserve what is working, address gaps, and determine where the company should invest next.

The title matters less than the scope you have already owned. A strong Senior Director, Head of IT, Head of Enterprise Technology, or #2 technology leader who has already owned significant parts of this mandate and is ready to step into broader enterprise leadership could be particularly compelling.

What You Bring To The Table

• 15+ years of progressive enterprise technology experience, with significant leadership responsibility across enterprise applications, business technology, corporate IT, or a combination of these areas.
• Deep enterprise applications experience, including ownership of major business platforms and the architecture, integrations, data, and workflows connecting them.
• Demonstrated experience personally building, modernizing, or scaling an enterprise technology environment through meaningful organizational growth and change.
• Experience turning AI from an emerging capability into something the business actually uses, with examples of adoption, automation, productivity improvement, or redesigned business processes.
• Strong understanding of how enterprise applications, data, analytics, integrations, and AI work together as part of a broader technology architecture.
• Experience building and leading technology teams with meaningful ownership of budgets, vendors, infrastructure, and service delivery.
• An operator's background with direct ownership inside an organization. Experience working with outside advisors and implementation partners is valuable, but this role requires someone who has personally owned the outcomes rather than primarily advised clients on how to achieve them.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

• Compensation: Base salary approximately $215K to $285K, plus equity. Final compensation will vary based on experience and expertise. Bonus structure is still being confirmed.
• Location: Greater Washington, DC region. Local candidates are strongly preferred, although exceptional East Coast candidates may be considered.
• Work Model: Flexible, with the ability to spend time with the local team when needed.
• Engagement Type: Full-time, direct-hire executive leadership role.
