Title: Vice President Leveraged Finance Credit Risk
Office Status: Hybrid New York, NY
Base Salary: $125k - $235k + Discretionary Bonus
ABOUT THE ROLE
This Vice President-level opportunity sits within the Credit Risk function of a leading global financial institution, partnering directly with Investment Banking and Infrastructure business units to manage credit risk across a leveraged lending portfolio. The role offers meaningful deal exposure spanning LBOs, M&A financings, and complex structured transactions across a wide variety of industries and lending products. Beyond the analytical work, this position carries real leadership responsibility, including mentoring junior talent and presenting credit views to senior management and credit committees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the review and credit approval of leveraged finance transactions including LBOs, M&A financings, hold commitments, and other credit requests, ensuring consistency with the institution's risk appetite and applicable regulations
Perform comprehensive due diligence including financial modeling, valuation analysis, and legal term sheet review;prepare detailed credit recommendations and present to relevant approvers and credit committees
Ensure all credit approval documentation adheres to internal policies and regulatory requirements
Manage the hold book in conjunction with the Industry Head, credit monitoring team, and front office colleagues
Build and maintain strong relationships with front office partners, challenging assumptions constructively and communicating clear credit views
Assist in interactions with auditors and regulators, supporting related reporting requirements and leading responses to audit and regulatory inquiries
Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance on analytical work product and credit fundamentals
Manage diverse internal projects and contribute to ongoing portfolio monitoring and governance initiatives
