Here's a summary of responsibilities:
The Vice President, Media Partnerships is responsible for developing, managing, and maximizing strategic media relationships and revenue opportunities across the organization’s broadcast, streaming, digital, and content platforms. This executive will lead negotiations and activation strategies for media rights, distribution partnerships, branded content, and integrated marketing initiatives that enhance audience reach, fan engagement, and commercial value.
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Vice President will work closely with IOC, IPC, NGBs, media partner(s), streaming platforms, sponsors, and internal departments to drive innovation and growth in an evolving sports media landscape. The Vice President works cross-functionally across Commercial Operations, Brand, Fan Growth & Experiences, Communications, Legal, and Finance to maximize the value of Team USA content and media assets. The ideal candidate combines strong relationship management skills with deep expertise in sports media, content licensing and distribution, audience growth, sponsorship integration, and digital strategy.

Media Rights & Partnership Strategy
- Develop and execute the organization’s media partnerships and monetization strategies in alignment with broader commercial objectives to maximize revenue, audience growth, and brand exposure.
- Lead negotiations for and execution of broadcast, streaming, radio, content licensing, and digital distribution agreements.
- Identify, develop, and oversee strategic relationships with broadcasting networks, streaming platforms, media agencies, technology platforms, and content partners.
- Provide strategic expertise and recommendations to league and team leadership on media rights opportunities and long-term distribution planning to support commercial growth and audience expansion.
- Lead strategic planning efforts with media partners to expand distribution, develop new content opportunities, and maximize audience engagement.
Revenue Generation & Commercial Integration
- Develop integrated partnership opportunities that combine media assets, sponsorship programs, branded content, athlete storytelling, and fan engagement initiatives.
- Partner with Partnerships and Asset Development teams to enhance partner value and support revenue growth objectives through media exposure and activation.
- Develop business cases, including financial analyses, that support media partnership opportunities, audience growth initiatives, and revenue-generating investments across digital, social, and emerging media platforms.
- Establish performance metrics and reporting frameworks to evaluate partnership effectiveness, fan growth, content performance, and revenue outcomes.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive developments, and evolving consumer media behaviors to identify new opportunities for value creation.
Content Distribution & Audience Development
- Collaborate with Content, Fan Growth & Experiences, Brand, and Creative teams to expand audience reach and engagement through compelling multimedia content aligned with organizational brand strategy.
- Utilize audience insights, viewership data, fan behavior analytics, and platform performance metrics to inform partnership and media distribution strategies.
- Identify emerging platforms, technologies, and distribution models to drive innovation in revenue generation and fan experiences.
Relationship Management & Content Licensing
- Serve as the relationship owner for key media and distribution partners.
- Maintain strong relationships with executives across broadcast, streaming, digital media, sports, entertainment, and technology organizations.
- Ensure effective management of contractual rights, licensing agreements, promotional obligations, and partnership deliverables in partnership with Legal and Finance teams.
- Maximize the commercial value of Team USA content, media inventory, archival footage, intellectual property, and related digital assets.
- Establish monetization strategies across traditional, digital, social, streaming, and emerging media platforms.
- Identify new commercial opportunities and expanded partnerships that leverage Team USA content and media assets to create incremental revenue and audience growth while increasing value for both Team USA and media partners.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing Media Partnerships team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with leaders across Commercial Operations, Brand, Content, Legal, Finance, Fan Growth & Experiences, Partnerships, and Business Operations to ensure alignment and execution of strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a member of the Commercial Operations leadership team, providing expertise and recommendations related to media trends, audience growth opportunities, partnership performance, and distribution strategy.
- Provide strategic insights, reporting, and recommendations to executive leadership regarding media performance, partnership opportunities, market developments, and emerging risks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- Advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of experience in sports media, broadcasting, digital media, partnerships, commercial business development, or related industries
- Proven track record negotiating and managing complex media partnerships and commercial agreements to support revenue generation
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and strategic initiatives
- Deep network within sports media and entertainment industries preferred
- Strong understanding of sports broadcasting, streaming ecosystems, digital content distribution, and audience analytics
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to use data to drive decision-making
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex, high-growth environment while balancing strategic and operational priorities
- Strategic thinker with innovative and entrepreneurial mindset preferred
- Passion for sports, storytelling, and fan engagement preferred

Here's some more information you need to know:
- CO/National hiring pay range: $215,000-$230,000 per year
- NY hiring pay range: $275,000-$290,000 per year
- This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
- Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 25% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
