Vice President of Finance

Opportunity

A growing, privately held, product-focused organization in the Tampa Bay area is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance to join its leadership team. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to step into a highly visible role with significant influence across the business.

Reporting directly to ownership, this individual will lead the finance and accounting function while helping drive operational improvements, financial visibility, and business performance. The company is seeking someone who is naturally inquisitive, analytical, and excited by the opportunity to improve processes and uncover meaningful business insights.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves while also serving as a strategic partner to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and finance activities for the organization
• Manage and mentor a small accounting team
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Develop budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial reporting packages
• Partner with ownership to provide financial analysis and business recommendations
• Improve business intelligence, reporting capabilities, and operational metrics
• Ensure accurate inventory accounting and financial controls
• Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors
• Identify and implement process improvements across finance and operations
• Assist with oversight of outsourced technology vendors and select administrative functions
• Support ERP optimization and continuous improvement initiatives

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience within manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, or other inventory-driven businesses
• Strong inventory accounting and cost accounting experience
• Experience with Sage 100 or similar ERP systems preferred
• Background in public accounting combined with industry experience is highly desirable
• CPA preferred
• Strong analytical and business partnering skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership
• Hands-on, proactive approach with a willingness to challenge the status quo
