The VP of HR makes an impact by -

The VP of HR is responsible for leading all human resources functions, ensuring alignment between business strategy and people practices, while fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and accountable workplace. The VP of HR will develop and execute the company’s HR strategy. The VP of HR leads the company’s people strategy across talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, and organizational development. The VP of HR partners with senior leadership to build scalable HR systems, strengthen culture, improve employee experience, and ensure that HR decisions support business goals.

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on workforce and organizational priorities.
  • Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals, growth initiatives, and operational needs.
  • Lead talent acquisition, succession planning, leadership development, and workforce planning efforts.
  • Establish and maintain compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategies that attract, retain, and motivate employees.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive compensation and total rewards strategy aligned with organizational goals and talent strategy.
  • Lead market analysis, benchmarking, and salary reviews to ensure competitive pay practices and internal equity.
  • Oversee employee benefit programs, including health and welfare plans, retirement programs, wellness initiatives, and vendor partnerships.
  • Evaluate benefit plan performance, employee utilization, and cost trends to balance employee value with organizational affordability.
  • Analyze HR metrics and market trends to support data-driven workforce decisions.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements and compliance with employment legislation in order to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Partners with legal counsel as needed/required.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing HR team.
  • Partner with operations and business leaders to improve productivity, retention, and organizational performance.
  • Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
  • Comply with Safe Quality Foods (SQF) food safety and quality standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional HR certification is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive human resources leadership experience, including experience leading HR strategy and supporting executive leadership teams.
  • Proven experience developing and executing a comprehensive HR strategy, aligned with business goals and organizational growth.
  • Experience designing and managing total rewards and benefits strategies.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Federal and State employment laws, regulations, compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate organizational objectives into effective people strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change, culture transformation, and workforce initiatives in complex environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver presentations and training at all levels in the organization. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, including C-Suite.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize complex projects.
  • High degree of professional judgment and the ability to act independently.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and ability to organize and prioritize complex projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and various HRIS systems. Prior experience with UKG preferred.

Physical Demands -

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

  • The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required).
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours.
  • The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks.
  • Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks.
  • The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
  • Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
  • Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis.
  • Must have ability to travel to clients, customers, or other work sites by a variety of transportation methods.
