Vice President of Information Technology

Location: McLean, VA – Onsite

Terms: Full-time

Reports to: Chief Technology and Transformation Officer

Salary Range: $200-$225k DOE

Position Description

As VP of Information Technology, you are Revolutional's senior technology executive, responsible for the strategy, infrastructure, security, and operations of our internal IT environment. You lead a team of 7 to 10 professionals, own the technology roadmap for a 600+ employee organization on an aggressive growth trajectory, and serve as a direct partner to executive and finance leadership on IT investment, risk, and governance.

You are technically deep and strategically minded with the experience to make authoritative decisions on architecture and security, manage the budget and vendor relationships, and bring the M&A experience to assess and integrate acquired environments under real operational pressure. You build IT organizations that scale with the business and you stay close enough to the work to know when something needs your direct attention.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Executive Partnership

  • Partner with the CEO, CTO, and executive leadership to develop IT strategy, manage the technology budget, and align investments with company growth objectives
  • Serve as the executive-level technology advisor on cybersecurity risk, compliance obligations, vendor contracts, and data privacy matters
  • Contribute to corporate strategic planning and provide technology perspective on business decisions, including M&A activity

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Lead IT due diligence for M&A transactions: assess target technology environments, identify integration risks, evaluate security posture, and surface IT liabilities before close
  • Develop and execute IT integration plans: network consolidation, identity migration, endpoint standardization, and system rationalization across acquired entities
  • Build repeatable integration frameworks that support Revolutional's ongoing acquisition strategy

Team & Operations

  • Lead, develop, and retain an internal IT and security team of 7–10 professionals; establish clear ownership, performance standards, and operational accountability
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations across support, systems administration, endpoint management, and infrastructure for a 600+ employee organization
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and hardware and software asset governance; hold external partners accountable to service and cost commitments

Infrastructure & Security

  • Serve as the technical authority for the enterprise Microsoft ecosystem: architect and govern AWS, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and M365 environments at scale
  • Oversee core network infrastructure including DNS architecture, enterprise switching and routing, Wi-Fi, VPN, and hybrid cloud/on-premise connectivity
  • Establish and enforce enterprise cybersecurity policy, risk management, and compliance programs; collaborate with legal on audits, contracts, and data privacy obligations

What You Bring (Requirements)

Baseline Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience); advanced degree preferred
  • 10 or more years of progressive IT leadership experience, including direct management of IT teams in organizations of 500 or more employees
  • Demonstrated M&A experience from an IT perspective: due diligence participation, integration planning, and environment consolidation
  • Full-time, onsite availability five days per week in McLean, VA

Technical & Domain Capabilities

  • Expert-level knowledge of enterprise AWS, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, M365 administration, and hybrid identity architecture
  • Experience with and managing AI products such as Claude, ChatGPT, Open AI, including awareness of the current/recent AI landscape
  • Deep technical proficiency in DNS architecture, enterprise network infrastructure, and cloud/on-premise integration
  • Proven experience building enterprise cybersecurity programs: policy development, risk management, incident response, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong financial acumen: IT budget management, vendor negotiation, and technology investment decisions in partnership with executive and finance leadership
  • Experience collaborating with legal on software audits, data privacy compliance, vendor contracts, and cybersecurity governance

Core Strengths

  • Technically authoritative and executive-ready: you make sound architecture and security decisions and communicate risk and investment trade-offs clearly to non-technical leadership
  • Experienced M&A operator: you have done the due diligence, built the integration plan, and executed the consolidation under timeline pressure
  • Organizational leader who develops teams, sets clear standards, and builds IT functions that scale with the business
  • Hands-on when it matters: you know the environment, engage directly with complex problems, and set the technical standard for your team

Nice to Have (Differentiators)

  • Experience in a GovCon or federal contracting environment with working knowledge of CMMC, NIST SP 800 series, or equivalent federal cybersecurity frameworks
  • Advanced certifications: CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert
  • Experience building or maturing an IT function through multiple rounds of company growth or acquisition
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles and implementation in a corporate environment
