Vice President of Operations - Mission Critical Electrical ConstructionCanyon State ElectricPhoenix, AZ AreaCompensation: Base Salary: $185,000 - $245,000 (depending on experience and qualifications) + performance bonus + executive incentive plan with significant upside potential.Position OverviewCanyon State Electric, one of Arizona's leading electrical contractors, is looking for an experienced Vice President of Operations to join our executive team and help drive the next phase of our growth.This executive role will have full responsibility for leading day-to-day operations across project management, field execution, procurement, and Virtual Design & Construction (VDC). The focus will be on mission-critical and data center projects, where precision, safety, and profitability are non-negotiable.The successful candidate will bring proven operational leadership to elevate performance, strengthen teams, and deliver exceptional results on complex, high-stakes electrical projects.Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and optimize all operational functions, including project management, field operations, procurement, and VDCRecruit, develop, and lead high-performing teams across leadership and field rolesManage the complete project lifecycle - from preconstruction planning through successful project closeoutChampion operational excellence on mission-critical data center initiatives to support long-term client partnershipsUphold the highest standards for safety, quality, and regulatory compliance on every projectDevelop and implement streamlined processes that boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve marginsFoster strong client relationships and ensure consistently high levels of satisfactionProactively resolve challenges and remove roadblocks to keep projects on schedule and on budgetPartner with senior leadership on strategic planning and expansion strategiesBuild and maintain effective relationships with key vendors and subcontractorsCultivate a company-wide culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, and safetyQualifications10+ years of progressive leadership experience in electrical constructionDemonstrated success in a senior operations or executive leadership roleSignificant hands-on experience with mission-critical and data center electrical projects is essentialStrong expertise in project management, field operations, procurement, and VDCTrack record of building, scaling, and leading high-performing technical and field teamsProven ability to deliver projects profitably, on time, and to the highest quality standardsExcellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsDeep commitment to safety, operational excellence, and client-focused deliveryBenefitsComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement optionsLong-term incentive opportunities tied to overall company successIdeal Candidate ProfileWe're seeking a seasoned operations leader who combines strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute at a high level.
