Position Summary

The VP of Sourcing is a newly elevated executive mandate, expanding the scope of what has historically been a merchandising-adjacent sourcing function into full ownership of the company's global sourcing strategy, vendor network, working capital position, and cross-border compliance. the VP of Sourcing will restructure vendor payment terms to move our collision business to a negative cash conversion cycle, consolidate and modernize the company's sourcing operations in Taiwan, build sourcing capability in new geographies, and maintain cost competitiveness while meeting all U.S. safety and regulatory standards.

This role reports directly to the COO and carries board-level visibility. It requires someone who can operate as a strategic executive-setting the mandate, negotiating for resources, and reporting progress at the executive and board level-while also being hands-on enough to personally drive vendor negotiations, oversee a cost-gap deep-dive at the component level, and hold a cross-functional compliance workstream accountable even when the technical work sits with another function.

Key Responsibilities

Working Capital & Vendor Terms

• Own the transformation of our collision business to an aggregate negative cash conversion cycle, targeting vendor payment terms to support a 3-turn business.

Vendor & Network Restructuring

• Bring all Taiwan-origin container consolidation in-house under the Taiwan Office, transitioning away from third-party consolidators while preserving carrier rate leverage.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to build sourcing capability in at least two more geographies in the first 18 months on the job.

Organizational Leadership & Team Build-out

• Design the sourcing organization required for this mandate and build out fully staffed Taiwan and U.S. teams.
• Establish a two-hub operating model - Taiwan and the United States- with clear decision rights, a defined cross-functional RACI with Accounting, Finance/Treasury, Legal, and HR, and a standing governance cadence.

Cost Competitiveness

• Build and maintain the should-cost models, category scorecards, and gap-closure initiative tracker needed to make cost gaps visible and accountable on a standing basis, with every cost lever passing a safety/compliance gate before it counts toward the reported closure trajectory.

Process Modernization

• Modernize sourcing operations end-to-end - replacing manual, file-based workflows with automated systems and a structured exception management process, in partnership with IT.
• Build direct system integration between Sourcing and the Replenishment team so that lead times, in-transit status, and order data flow automatically.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in sourcing, procurement, or global supply chain, including experience operating at a senior/executive level with P&L-adjacent accountability.
• Must have long tail experience. Minimum previous experience with 50K+ skus.
• Must have previous sourcing P&L exceeding $200M.
• Direct, hands-on experience negotiating and restructuring vendor payment terms or otherwise driving working-capital improvement at scale.
• Experience managing vendor-managed inventory, consignment, or fully-funded partner relationships with contract manufacturers or private-label/branded suppliers.
• Direct operating experience with Taiwan and/or China-based sourcing, manufacturing, or logistics operations, including freight and container consolidation.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Accounting, Tax, Legal, Finance, and HR on cross-functional, compliance-sensitive initiatives without owning the underlying technical discipline personally.
• Track record of building, scaling, and leading international teams across multiple geographies.
• Working knowledge of automotive parts manufacturing and U.S. safety/regulatory standards sufficient to enforce a non-negotiable safety bar while still driving meaningful cost reduction.
• Experience leading process modernization or systems implementation initiatives that touch sourcing, procurement, or supply chain planning.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the automotive aftermarket parts industry, particularly in lighting, mirrors, catalytic converters, or body parts.
• Experience with component-level should-cost modeling or cost engineering.
• Working proficiency in Mandarin, given direct oversight of the Taiwan Office.
• Experience standing up new international sourcing offices.
