Description
This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of substance use treatment and recovery support across Rhode Island. As VP of SUD & Recovery, you'll provide executive leadership over a full continuum of care — from Medication-Assisted Treatment and co-occurring disorder services to peer recovery programs — within the CCBHC and FQHC framework. You'll sit on the Health Leadership Team and drive both clinical excellence and strategic growth.
What You'll Do
- Set strategic direction for all SUD treatment and recovery services, aligned with organizational priorities and community need
- Ensure delivery of evidence-based, integrated care across MAT and co-occurring disorder services
- Lead long-range planning, service expansion, and innovation to strengthen access and sustainability
- Drive clinical quality and outcomes through performance metrics and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with CCBHC, HRSA, BHDDH, and Joint Commission standards
- Advance integrated care models in partnership with behavioral health and primary care leadership
- Direct the East Bay Recovery Center and recovery support services, including Peer Recovery Specialist programming
- Monitor productivity, quality indicators, and financial performance across programs
- Oversee grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance and reporting expectations are met
- Manage budgets and resource allocation for SUD treatment and recovery services
- Build partnerships with community organizations, recovery networks, and state agencies
- Represent the organization in state, regional, and community forums
- Maintain a visible presence in the RI recovery community to strengthen relationships and funding
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree
- LCDP licensure (or eligible) in Rhode Island
- 7–10 years of progressive leadership in SUD or behavioral health
- Demonstrated experience with MAT, co-occurring disorder, and recovery-oriented systems
- Familiarity with CCBHC, HRSA, BHDDH & Joint Commission standards
- Proven track record managing budgets, grants, and program growth
Preferred
- Experience in an FQHC and/or CCBHC environment
- Knowledge of Rhode Island's behavioral health system and funding landscape
- Strategic, systems-level thinker who leads with data
- Collaborative leadership style across clinical, recovery, and primary care teams
