Summary:

The Vice President of Operations for Mount St. Mary's Hospital is responsible for managing the daily operations of Mount St. Mary's Hospital Lewiston, Lockport Memorial, NAC, and Mount St. Mary's Offsites (MSM). This position is directly responsible for driving performance, implementing all operational initiatives, programs and services, integrating with the service lines, and interacting with physicians and staff. Accountable for directing and coordinating the assigned operations for Mount St. Mary's Hospital in compliance with the Joint Commission and regulatory guidelines for patient care delivery. Provides site leadership as designated on-site administrator, reporting directly to the Hospital President.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • Masters in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or other related field within three (3) years

EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of five (5) - ten (10) years of progressive operations work experience; minimum of three (3) years of experience in operations within a health care work environment
  • Five (5) years senior management experience in a complex multifaceted organization; minimum of three (3) years OF management experience within healthcare
  • Experience in working with physicians and senior management
  • Experience in financial applications, reimbursement, budgetary, and P&L responsibility for high volume complex clinical and operational services

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

  • Knowledge of governance, leadership, management and service-oriented operations is required
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and New York State rules and regulations regarding Article 28 facilities and reimbursement and Article (Clearview #)
  • Proficient in the Joint Commission standards' and survey process
  • Knowledge of information systems' applications, implementation and operations in a multiple site healthcare organization
  • Significant experience with physicians and senior management
  • Significant experience in development and implementation of operational reengineering, and strategic planning
  • Individual must have a proven performance track record
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical and organizational skills
