This position is responsible for the direction, coordination, and overall management of the production department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic planning and development of long-range production requirements, including acquisition of new equipment, personnel, and production line design.
Analyze and streamline the production processes, including specialized cutting.
Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
Responsible for ensuring production compliance with hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP).
Accountable for the safety of employees in production floor operations.
Liable for training and administrative support for supervisors and employees.
Scheduling of production department.
Execution of daily production plan.
Responsible for controlling production costs.
Procurement of raw material for production requirements.
In-plant and off-plant business customer service/support.
Know and understand the company's safety and health goals and objectives.
Assist the company in achieving these goals by participating in the safety program.
Conduct periodic safety inspections of my department and have any safety issues found addressed immediately.
Train and promote safe work practices and use observations to check on employee's work habits.
Use the company's disciplinary policy to enforce safe work practices.
Promote participation in the safety program to all employees.
To ensure compliance with government compliance issues (such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and FDA) as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in management and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Professional Skills
Strong organizational ability.
Language/Communication Skills
Bi-lingual in English and Spanish very helpful.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistic inference to practical situations.
Physical Demand
Position requires frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 Lbs
Work Environment
Works principally in cold and wet conditions.
