Description
A financial services organization is seeking an experienced remediation and regulatory risk professional to support the management and resolution of significant regulatory, audit, and internally identified issues. This position will help coordinate remediation activity across the organization, ensuring corrective actions are appropriately designed, documented, governed, and completed within established timelines.
The role will work closely with senior management, business leaders, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Regulatory Relations, governance committees, and other stakeholders throughout the remediation lifecycle. The successful candidate will bring strong experience managing complex remediation initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate complex remediation initiatives involving regulatory findings, audit issues, and significant internally identified matters from initial planning through validation and closure.
Partner with business and control functions to develop remediation strategies, corrective action plans, milestones, governance structures, and supporting documentation.
Track remediation activities against established deliverables and timelines, escalating delays, dependencies, control gaps, and other risks as appropriate.
Support root cause analysis activities to ensure remediation plans address underlying issues and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.
Work across business, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, and other functions to facilitate effective execution of remediation commitments.
Partner closely with Regulatory Relations on matters involving regulatory findings, examinations, commitments, and responses.
Support the development and review of regulatory correspondence, remediation updates, supporting documentation, and other materials used in interactions with regulators.
Prepare clear, concise, executive-level reporting on remediation status, corrective action plans, milestones, key performance indicators, risks, and outstanding dependencies.
Develop materials suitable for senior management, Board, regulatory, and governance committee review.
Maintain consistent tracking and reporting of corrective action plans across steering committees and other oversight forums.
Monitor adherence to established remediation policies, procedures, governance standards, and documentation requirements.
Coordinate with stakeholders to maintain and enhance procedures governing the end-to-end remediation process.
Collect, organize, and review supporting evidence used to demonstrate completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
Assist remediation teams with evidence mapping, documentation standards, and preparation of closure packages.
Support governance committees responsible for remediation oversight, including meeting coordination, agenda development, preparation of meeting materials, minutes, and tracking of follow-up actions.
Maintain accurate records of committee decisions, action items, ownership, and deadlines.
Provide guidance to remediation owners and stakeholders regarding governance expectations, documentation requirements, and remediation standards.
What We re Looking For
5+ years of experience in remediation management, regulatory compliance, risk management, internal audit, project management, or a related discipline within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating complex regulatory, audit, or risk remediation initiatives.
Strong understanding of regulatory remediation processes, corrective action planning, issue management, and governance.
Experience working with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to financial market infrastructure, including Regulation HH, CPMI-IOSCO principles, and/or the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMI).
Experience supporting regulatory examinations, findings, commitments, or regulatory change initiatives.
Strong knowledge of root cause analysis, risk assessments, control testing, evidence collection, and remediation validation.
Ability to develop and track corrective action plans, milestones, dependencies, KPIs, and other remediation metrics.
