Description
A custom lighting manufacturer is seeking a VP Sales to lead nationwide sales growth within the hospitality market. This role will manage a network of independent multi-line representatives develop new business with designers purchasing groups and hospitality clients and represent the brand at key industry events. Approximately 40 travel required.
This is a senior sales leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional who understands the hospitality lighting space from the inside - someone who has built and managed rep networks navigated the complexities of custom specification projects and developed the kind of deep trust-based relationships with designers purchasing agents and hospitality brands that translate into consistent long-term revenue.
Hospitality design is one of the most specification-intensive and relationship-driven segments of the commercial lighting industry. Hotel brands resort developers and hospitality interior designers demand lighting solutions that are custom carefully crafted and capable of delivering a specific aesthetic and experiential outcome - which means the sales process is consultative collaborative and built almost entirely on trust and expertise. Manufacturers who earn a seat at the table with the right designers and purchasing groups benefit from a level of project volume and specification loyalty that few other market segments can match.
The demand for distinctive high-quality custom lighting in the hospitality sector continues to grow as hotel brands invest heavily in guest experience property renovation and new development. For a National Sales Manager with the right relationships and the right approach the opportunity to grow a nationally distributed custom lighting brand in this space is substantial.
Five or more years of national sales experience with a custom hospitality supplier or closely related manufacturer.
Proven success recruiting managing and developing independent multi-line sales representatives across multiple regions.
Strong existing relationships within the hospitality design and purchasing community including interior designers purchasing agents hotel brand procurement teams and hospitality developers.
Experience supporting and executing sales-focused marketing initiatives including trade show presence product launches and brand positioning campaigns.
Lighting industry experience is a plus familiarity with custom specification processes and lead times is highly valued.
Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills with the ability to represent the brand professionally at the highest levels of the industry.
Willingness and ability to travel approximately 40 of the time including attendance at key industry trade shows and client visits nationwide.
