Job Description
Ares is seeking a Vice President, Salesforce Engineering Lead to drive delivery, platform excellence, and technical leadership for the Wealth Management Salesforce ecosystem, ensuring scalable, high-quality solutions that support business growth and operational efficiency.
Reporting to the Vice President, Wealth Technology Lead, the successful candidate will serve as the engineering leader for the Wealth Management Salesforce platform, partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders and the Salesforce Architect to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with business priorities and architectural standards.
This role is responsible for leading a geographically distributed Salesforce engineering team, driving engineering excellence, fostering continuous learning and innovation, and ensuring successful delivery of strategic platform initiatives. While maintaining strong Salesforce technical expertise and credibility, the primary focus of the role is engineering leadership, delivery execution, team development, and platform stewardship rather than day-to-day software development.
The ideal candidate combines Salesforce platform expertise, strong people leadership skills, and a passion for developing high-performing engineering teams. They proactively stay abreast of Salesforce innovation, modern software delivery practices, and emerging AI-enabled development capabilities, helping the organization continuously improve how solutions are designed, delivered, and supported.

Primary Functions & Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed Salesforce engineering team across North America and India.
- Establish a high-performance engineering culture focused on accountability, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance management, coaching, career development, and regular feedback discussions for direct reports.
- Partner with leadership to recruit, interview, onboard, and develop Salesforce engineering talent.
- Manage staffing capacity, resource allocation, and delivery commitments across concurrent initiatives and support activities.
- Foster effective collaboration across time zones while ensuring consistent engineering standards and team engagement.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical and production support issues impacting the Wealth Salesforce platform.
- Create opportunities for team members to expand their technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and business domain knowledge.
Salesforce Delivery & Technical Oversight
- Lead engineering delivery for Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Pardot, and associated platform capabilities supporting Wealth Management.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions are delivered in alignment with business priorities, strategic objectives, and roadmap commitments.
- Collaborate closely with the Salesforce Architect to ensure platform implementations align with enterprise architecture standards and long-term strategic direction.
- Provide oversight of technical solutions, implementation approaches, code quality, and overall platform health.
- Guide development teams through solution delivery and remove technical or operational roadblocks.
- Review significant technical decisions and implementation plans to ensure scalability, maintainability, and operational supportability.
- Support platform modernization initiatives and technical debt reduction efforts.
- Ensure consistent adherence to established development standards, security requirements, and engineering best practices.
Agile Delivery & Execution
- Lead engineering execution across Agile teams and delivery initiatives.
- Ensure user stories are properly understood, estimated, and delivered according to sprint commitments.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor team performance, delivery metrics, and engineering effectiveness.
- Drive transparency and accountability around project execution and release readiness.
- Coordinate activities across development, testing, architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and predictable delivery.
Engineering Excellence & Operational Governance
- Establish and maintain Salesforce development standards, coding practices, and engineering governance processes.
- Champion adoption of modern engineering practices including source control, peer reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration principles.
- Partner with the Salesforce Architect to support adoption of the firm's CI/CD framework and deployment processes.
- Ensure production support issues are addressed through effective troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Promote operational maturity through documentation, knowledge sharing, support readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform stability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Drive engineering discipline around release quality, testing standards, and supportability.
Continuous Improvement & Technology Enablement
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical curiosity, and professional growth across the Salesforce engineering team.
- Stay current on Salesforce platform releases, emerging capabilities, and industry best practices, evaluating opportunities to deliver business value through new platform features.
- Partner with the Salesforce Architect to assess and advocate for adoption of relevant Salesforce innovations, including AI-powered platform capabilities, automation enhancements, and modern development tooling.
- Encourage the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, documentation, and solution delivery.
- Promote knowledge sharing through technical workshops, architecture reviews, mentoring activities, and collaborative problem solving.
- Encourage team members to pursue Salesforce certifications, professional development opportunities, and ongoing skill advancement.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering effectiveness, delivery predictability, platform reliability, and operational maturity.
- Identify opportunities to leverage new Salesforce releases and emerging technologies to improve business outcomes and developer productivity.
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
- Build strong working relationships with business stakeholders across Wealth Management.
- Partner with business and technology leaders to evaluate priorities, trade-offs, delivery risks, and resource needs.
- Translate business objectives into actionable engineering plans and execution strategies.
- Communicate delivery status, risks, and recommendations to technology and business leadership.
- Develop a strong understanding of Wealth Management business processes, client lifecycle workflows, and operational needs.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on platform capabilities, engineering considerations, and delivery planning.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Background
- 10+ years of Salesforce platform experience with progressively increasing technical leadership responsibilities.
- 3+ years of direct people management experience leading Salesforce engineers or technical delivery teams.
- Proven experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
- Deep expertise with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Platform capabilities, and Pardot.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce development, configuration, security, integration, and data management concepts.
- Experience leading large-scale Salesforce implementations and platform enhancement initiatives.
- Demonstrated success partnering with business stakeholders, architects, and technology leaders to deliver complex technology solutions.
- Experience establishing engineering standards, delivery processes, and operational support practices.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and experience evaluating and adopting emerging Salesforce platform capabilities, modern engineering practices, and AI-enabled development tools.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within Asset Management, Wealth Management, Financial Services, FinTech, or other highly regulated industries.
- Experience managing blended teams consisting of employees, consultants, and offshore resources.
- Experience working within CI/CD delivery models utilizing tools such as Copado, Git, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Experience leading platform governance, operational maturity, and engineering process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with Salesforce AI capabilities, Agentforce, Einstein, and emerging platform technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale CRM platforms with complex integrations and data management requirements.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.
$175,000 - $225,000
