Vice President, Technical AccountingOur client is a leading global financial services institution with a strong reputation for innovation, stability, and a client-first approach. With a significant presence across capital markets, asset servicing, and wealth management, they are committed to delivering high-quality financial solutions while maintaining rigorous accounting and reporting standards.Job DescriptionServe as the subject matter expert on US GAAP, advising on complex transactions, accounting policies, and new pronouncements (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments).Lead the assessment and implementation of new accounting standards, including documenting technical memos and ensuring compliance across business units.Partner with finance, legal, regulatory, and business teams to analyze accounting implications of strategic initiatives and transactions.Oversee the preparation and review of technical accounting documentation, ensuring audit readiness and alignment with external auditors.Monitor emerging accounting guidance and regulatory changes, providing thought leadership and proactive recommendations.Support financial reporting teams on complex disclosures and contribute to quarterly and annual filings.Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a strong technical accounting culture.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
