Job Summary:
The Victim Advocate shall be responsible for the provision of services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and their families to include victim assistance, community education, and volunteer management in the designated satellite center
and relevant service area., including but not limited to the following:
Victim Assistance:
1. Assessclient needsandprovide services asneeded.
2. Provideindividualcrisisandsupportgroupcounselingforvictimsandtheirfamilies.
3. Providesupportservicesforvictimsand theirfamiliestoincludeadvocacy,hospital andcourtaccompaniment,information andreferral, andresource procurement.
4. Provide follow-up services to victims and their families.
5. Provide staffback-up for volunteer victim advocates at night and on weekends ona rotation basis.
6. Maintainand enter services intodatabase onadailybasis.
7. Complete necessary reports as scheduled.
1. Schedule and manage volunteers.
2. Maintain and enter volunteer statistics into database on monthly basis.
1. Represent Pee Dee Coalition and take an active part in related communitytaskforces, committees. etc.
1. Provide community education and awarenesson the issues of domesticand sexual violenceand program services asassigned.
2. Document all community education and submit reports according to organizational policy.
3. Assist with the planning andImplementat1on of activitiesfor special awarenessmonths (Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Assault Awareness,andDomesticViolenceAwareness).
4. Actively distribute brochures, crisis cards, and materialsthroughoutthe community
5. Assist with in-service trainings for professionals
6. Participate in the public education component of the organization through public speaking, media interviews, and attendance/participation in community events.
1. Be familiar with organizationalgoalsand objectives and ensure compliance with required services and documentation.
2. Adhereto all organizational policiesand proceduresas outlined in the StaffManual,ProgramProcedures Manual.andPersonnelPolicies. Consultsupervisorwith questions.
3. Participate instaff development trainings as indicated by supervisor.Summarize information and report accordingly.
4. Performadministrativefunctionsas appropriate for position and meet organizational deadlines as indicated.
5. Prepare monthly service/activityreportsfortheBoard ofDirectors.
6. Obtain Victim Service Provider certification within first yearof employmentandmaintain annually bysecuring appropriate number of training hours.
7. Assistwiththegeneralmaintenance andupkeepofbuilding.
