The Policing, Fire and Crime Directorate is the link between the public, Police and Fire service. The team works to ensure Police and Fire are held to account, and that the public's questions and concerns are taken seriously. The team ensures community needs are met effectively, setting objectives through the Police and Crime Plan and Fire and Rescue Plan.
They also invest millions of pounds a year on key commissioned services for the local community, helping both to prevent crime and support those impacted by it. Supporting victims of crimes, working to reduce reoffending and addressing the root causes of crime activity. Working in partnership with the community to enhancing community safety, the service ensures voices and concerns of the public are considered, to drive improvement in the delivery of public services.

The York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to appoint a Victim Care Coordinator, within the Supporting Victims Team in the Directorate for Policing, Fire and Crime.
