Job Description

Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. in Auburn, NY is seeking a Victim Services Advocate to provide direct services to victims of sexual crimes and domestic violence. The Advocate will be a member of the Cayuga County Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) and Child Fatality Review Team (CFRT), Problematic Sexual Behavior Team (PSB) and will provide Safe Sleep program services as well as assist the Victim Services Coordinator with fulfilling the Action Plans. Essential Functions:Provides evidence -based educational programming alongside other advocates to K-12 students throughout Cayuga County on digital safety, healthy relationships, child abuse prevention, and related topicsDevelop and disseminate program awareness materials about program services.Create, schedule and facilitate ongoing outreach activities for program and service awareness.Provide direct services for adult and child victims and non-offending caregivers including but not limited to referrals, safety planning and education and advocacy.Provide services on college campuses and carry out functions for the Enough is Enough Program.Participate in bi-weekly Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) team meetings.Send out weekly court updates for clients in the PSB program that have court involvement.Provide coverage for the crisis hotline on a rotating basis.Carry out steps of the Action Plans resulting from Fatality Reviews, as assigned by the CFRT Coordinator.Perform other duties as assigned.Provide administrative support at the CAC including greeting clients both in the building and via phone, completing reminder calls and other duties as assigned.Maintain statistics and report presentations made and materials developed and distributed as deemed necessary for various funding sources.Participate in program and agency staff meetings and committees to promote program services.Requirements include:Associate's degree in human services or equivalent experience working in education, social work or related field.Familiarity with sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence as well as knowledge of the effects of trauma.Strong communication skills and public speaking skills.Benefits include:3 weeks PTO in your first year, 4 weeks in your second year.48 Hours of wellness time (4 hours accrue per month) that can be used any time you feel you need some time for yourself.96 hours of sick time annually, (accruing 8 hours per month)Ten Paid Holidays (includes one floating holiday)Agency sponsored life and dental insurance for employees, family plans are also available.6 different health insurances plans to choose from to fit your needsSabbatical: After 5 years of service, you are eligible for 4 WEEKS PAID TIME OFF that does not go against your other PTO.EEO
