Join a team that values service, compassion, and community connection.What We Offer:As a part-time Victim Support Specialist, you will earn an hourly wage ranging from $19.59 to $23.60, along with the opportunity to grow within a respected public service organization.YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:Schedule: Part-time hours between 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, serving Manila and the Dutch John area.In this part-time Victim Support Specialist role, you'll play a key part in supporting victims, coordinating volunteer advocates, and strengthening partnerships across the community. Your work will include outreach, training, case coordination, and direct advocacy.You actively engage with community members by delivering presentations and participating in local events that promote awareness of victim services. You collaborate with law enforcement personnel by providing training on victim rights and advocacy practices. You compile program data and share insights with county leadership while expanding the program through strategic volunteer recruitment, interviews, and onboarding. You lead and support volunteers by assigning caseloads, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and recognition. You assess victims' situations, develop safety plans, and advocate for their rights throughout legal proceedings. You review reports to identify individuals in need of support, connect them with necessary resources, and serve as a liaison between victims and justice system professionals to ensure effective communication and case progress.WHAT WE NEED FROM A VICTIM SUPPORT SPECIALISTHigh school diploma; plus, specialized training in victim assistance program management and operationsAND2+ years of experience in victim advocate setting or related human services areaORAn equivalent combination of education and experienceWorking knowledge of crisis intervention theory and techniques, sexual/physical abuse principles, child and adult protection services, social service systems (legal, court, medical, and referral sources), State of Utah laws/regulations regarding victim's rights, procedures of the justice systemSome knowledge of legal proceedings and legal terminologySkills to use personal computers and various software applicationsAbility to operate office equipment including copy machine, fax machine, etc.Know and act appropriately within the position boundaries and boundaries set by victim rights laws and victim advocate ethicsAbility to respond and refer quickly, appropriately and effectively in crisis situationsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to receive and appropriately maintain confidential materials and informationAbility to work with individuals from a range of economic and social experiences as well as state, county, and city officialsAbility to establish effective working relationships with area service providersPossessing a certification in Rape Crisis and Domestic Violence is preferredCompletion of Utah Victim Assistance Academy training is a plusAPPLY WITH PURPOSE:We know you're busy - that's why our initial application is quick and mobile-optimized.LEARN MORE ABOUT US:Daggett County's local government provides key services that help our community flourish.
