At REI Co-op, we believe time outside is time well spent. As a Video Editor, you help tell that story with clear video. You help bring the co-op voice to life. You turn raw footage into polished content. Your work may support product stories, campaigns, social posts, team updates, and leader messages. You work with studio leaders, producers, creative partners, and outside editors. Together, you plan, edit, finish, and deliver video for many channels. You also help keep files, labels, and usage rights in order. This helps teams find and use video assets with trust.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

  • Edit and version video for REI digital channels. Work may include product pages, social cutdowns, campaigns, and team messages.
  • Build clear stories through shot flow, pacing, music, graphics, color, sound, and final file delivery.
  • Join planning for shoots. Help shape story needs, shot lists, and post-production plans.
  • Work with producers, creative teams, studio leaders, freelance contributors, and outside edit teams. Keep work clear and on track.
  • Manage video files, metadata, naming, usage rights, and handoffs in asset tools.
  • Watch video tools and trends. Share useful ways to improve REI’s workflow and final content.

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of video editing experience. A mix of education and work experience that shows the same skills will also be considered.
  • B.F.A. in film, video production, photography, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong skill with Adobe Premiere. Adobe After Effects, simple motion graphics, or animation is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of video capture, audio capture, sound editing, color correction, grading, and file delivery.
  • Ability to create clear short- and medium-form video stories. You can adapt them for audience needs, tests, and results.
  • Strong project management, communication, care for details, and follow-through. Knowledge of outdoor customers and outdoor culture preferred. Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds.

Base Pay Range: $74,400.00 - $119,100.00 per year
