Position Overview
KANA is seeking a Village Clinic Operations Specialist to support healthcare delivery throughout the Kodiak region. This position works closely with Village Clinic leadership and an experienced team of medical providers, including providers delivering care through telemedicine.
The Village Clinic Operations Specialist provides hands-on clinical and operational support in village communities, helping ensure patients receive quality, patient-centered care while village clinics remain compliant, well-equipped, and ready to serve their communities.

Key Responsibilities
Perform initial patient interviews and intake
Obtain and document vital signs and the patient\s chief complaint or reason for visit
Provide ancillary patient care within the appropriate scope of practice
Support providers during patient care and clinical activities
Provide team-based care focused on the patient, family, and community
Maintain professional, respectful relationships with patients, staff, providers, and visitors
Collect blood, urine, and other laboratory specimens using OSHA- and CLIA-approved methods
Process specimens and complete required documentation and third-party billing information for transportation
Perform laboratory testing after successfully completing required competency training and assessments
Complete initial, six-month, and annual laboratory competency requirements
Monitor laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, in coordination with Bio-Med recommendations
Package laboratory and biological specimens according to DOT and IATA requirements
Travel to KANA village clinics to provide provider ancillary support
Assist with village provider training
Conduct clinic surveillance and inspections
Help identify operational, clinical, supply, or compliance needs
Support consistent quality standards across village clinic locations
Collaborate with clinic leadership and providers to ensure effective clinic operations
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of relevant experience
Current Certified Medical Assistant certification, or
Current Phlebotomist certification with Certified Nursing Assistant certification
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Participation in annual de-escalation training
Valid driver\s license with three consecutive years of an acceptable driving record
Reliable transportation or comfort driving a company-owned vehicle
Work Schedule
KANA\s standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site per day).
All KANA positions are based in Kodiak and are not eligible for remote work. Applicants must reside in Kodiak or be willing to relocate.
