The VPP Program Marketing Manager is critical to scaling Tesla Energy s Virtual Power Plant programs across North America. As utilities and grid operators increasingly rely on distributed energy resources to balance the grid, Tesla s VPP offerings represent a massive growth opportunity - and need dedicated marketing support to drive enrollment, revenue, and market awareness. In this role, you will own the go-to-market strategy, messaging, content, and demand generation for VPP programs, ensuring each program has the marketing execution needed to succeed.

This role reports in through the Head of Global Demand Generation and collaborates closely with Business Development, Product, Sales, Utilities Partnerships, Marketing Operations, and external agency partners.

  • Own end-to-end go-to-market strategy and execution for VPP programs, including messaging, positioning, content creation, and demand generation campaigns that drive customer enrollment and program revenue
  • Partner with Business Development teams to create compelling sales enablement materials, pitch decks, case studies, and ROI models that position Tesla s VPP offerings to utilities, grid operators, and new prospective program partners
  • Develop program-specific marketing strategies tailored to regional utility partnerships, regulatory environments, and customer segments, ensuring alignment with enrollment targets and revenue goals
  • Lead content development across channels (web, email, social, in-app, events) to educate customers on VPP benefits, program participation, and grid services, translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling messaging
  • Collaborate with Product and Utilities Partnerships teams to align marketing strategies with program launches, pilot expansions, and new market opportunities
  • Build performance dashboards and reporting frameworks in partnership with Marketing Operations to track enrollment funnels, campaign performance, and program ROI, delivering actionable insights to leadership and BD teams
  • Identify and scale best practices across VPP programs, creating playbooks and templates that enable rapid deployment of marketing support for new utility partnerships and market expansions
  • 7+ years of experience in B2B or B2C marketing, with a focus on program marketing, demand generation, or go-to-market strategy for energy, utilities, SaaS, or high-consideration products
  • Understanding of VPP programs, distributed energy resources, utility partnerships, or grid services is strongly preferred. Experience in energy storage, solar, EV, or cleantech is a plus
  • Content & Messaging: Proven ability to develop compelling messaging and content for complex technical offerings, with experience translating product capabilities into customer and partner value propositions
  • Demonstrated success creating sales enablement materials and supporting business development teams in closing partnerships or driving revenue
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building performance dashboards, interpreting enrollment data, and optimizing marketing funnels to meet growth targets
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams, manage agency partners, and present to executive leadership
  • Passion for sustainability and Tesla s mission, with a focus on innovation, customer education, and scalable growth
