Description:

The Odyssey Academy Virtual School (OAVS) Governing Council and the Ripon Area School District seeks a qualified, innovative, and dynamic candidate to lead the on-going development and the growth of our virtual charter school. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated record of leading individuals and groups in developing a strong instructional culture and understand how instruction and assessment must be adjusted in a virtual environment. Strong candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of authentic assessment and the role of feedback in the learning cycle.

Position Summary: The Odyssey Academy Virtual School Principal will work with staff to develop a culture of taking positive intellectual risks as students work toward high academic expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional leadership: Work collaboratively with staff to align instruction and assessment to the Core Competencies of OAVS.

Communication: Build a positive culture by communicating clearly and effectively the expectations and vision of OAVS to parents and students and enforcing the policies of OAVS.

Outreach and Marketing: Develop and implement an outreach and recruitment strategy.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with staff to develop shared leadership processes and monitor growth toward specific educational outcomes.

Data-based Decision Making: Use student products and assessments to drive a cycle of continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements:

License: Wisconsin Teaching License (K-12 Principal)

Degree: Masters Degree preferred
