Job Description:
Virtual School-Based SLP (Maternity Leave Coverage) |Temp Part-Time |$50-$60/hour | Remote-Michigan | MI State SLP License and Educator License Required
About the Role: This is a temporary position covering a maternity leave, providing speech and language therapy services to students. You'll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver direct therapy to help students improve communication skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.
Michigan Licensure Requirements:
- Active Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), which requires a master's or doctoral degree from a CAA-accredited program and either current ASHA CCC-SLP certification or completion of the required supervised postgraduate clinical experience
- Michigan Department of Education approval/endorsement to serve as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Impairment (the "Educator License"), which requires a master's degree in speech-language pathology and the coursework specified under Michigan's special education rules
- Completion of a Michigan criminal background check and fingerprinting
- Candidates actively licensed in another state may apply for Michigan licensure by endorsement

What You'll Do:
- Conduct formalized and dynamic assessments to determine eligibility and level of functioning
- Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members
- Provide direct speech therapy services aligned with IEP goals
- Complete and maintain compliant IEPs; participate in annual and triennial reviews
- Consult with teachers and families to support generalization of communication skills
- Maintain accurate therapy notes, assessment data, and progress documentation
- Supervise and support SLPAs, including monitoring supervision hours (if applicable)
What We're Looking For:
Must Have:
- Current Speech-Language Pathologist license in Michigan (or eligibility to obtain via endorsement)
- Michigan Educator License/approval for school-based speech-language services
- Criminal and DCS background checks
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- High-speed internet and a quiet workspace to conduct job functions
Preferred:
- One year of experience in speech therapy
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs
- Experience with school-based caseload management
