Role Description The Vision Customer Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Lansing, MI, responsible for supporting and maintaining machine vision systems at customer locations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, performing installation, configuration, and preventive maintenance of vision equipment and software, and providing on-site field service to ensure system reliability and performance. The role involves collaborating closely with customers to understand their needs, delivering clear technical guidance, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction through timely and effective support. The engineer will document service activities, escalate complex issues when necessary, and work with internal engineering teams to improve system performance and service processes. This position requires frequent interaction with production environments, adherence to safety standards, and occasional travel to nearby customer sites.\n

- Strong customer-facing skills with a focus on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Support, including clear communication and follow-through.

- Experience in Field Service, including on-site visits, system setup, and hands-on work with industrial or automation equipment.

- Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills for machine vision systems, sensors, cameras, and related software or hardware.

- Working knowledge of industrial automation environments; experience with vision systems, robotics, or PLCs is highly beneficial.

- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and system diagrams.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a structured approach to diagnosing issues.

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, electronics, mechatronics, computer science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
