Position Details

Position Information Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor to begin September 1, 2026. We seek candidates who will contribute to our growing statistics and data science program, which includes a new Data Science and Statistics major.

Position Title Visiting Assistant Professor Data Science and Statistics Location Appleton Department Mathematics & Computer Science Position Type Faculty Position Description & Qualifications A Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, data science, mathematics, or a closely related field is preferred. A masters degree is required. Candidates should demonstrate potential for teaching a variety of undergraduate statistics and data science courses, including courses using R or Python.

Responsibilities Teaching two undergraduate courses in each of Lawrences three ten-week terms.
