Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Assistant Director of the Bearkat Marching Band and Director of Pep Band; conduct the University Concert Band; coordinate summer programs with the Center for Music Education, including online graduate and professional development offerings, teach courses in conducting, music education and others as needed by the School of Music; assist the Director of Bands with the overall administration of the university band program; develop and manage online curricula for music courses, recruit students for university bands; work effectively with faculty and students to build and maintain a productive relationship with public school music programs. This is a non-tenure track, annually renewable position.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Doctorate preferred; Masters Degree Required.
Experience Required for the Position
Demonstrated success as a conductor and in directing university marching bands and/or public school teaching.
