Job Summary:

The Theatre and Dance Department at Bucknell University seeks a five-month sabbatical replacement of Visiting Assistant Professor in Costume Design for the spring semester of the 2026-27 academic year, in an undergraduate program with a long history of strong production values.

Job Duties:

The Theatre and Dance Department at Bucknell University seeks a five-month sabbatical replacement of Visiting Assistant Professor in Costume Design for the spring semester of the 2026-27 academic year, in an undergraduate program with a long history of strong production values. Applicants must hold an MFA in Costume Design (or a terminal degree equivalent with costume design experience) and have prior teaching experience at a college level. Dance costume design is preferred. Responsibilities include designing costumes for one dance concert (which consists of seven dances of different styles from guest choreographers, faculty choreographers and student choreographers); coordinating costumes for one theatre showcase production with assistance from the costume studio; collaborating with costume staff (studio manager and assistant costumer); and teaching Costume Design and a Special Topics course (in candidate's area of specialization).
