Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for a Visiting Instructional Assistant Professor of Dance to begin Fall 2026.

This is a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track, visiting instructional position (9‑month). The position carries a 5/5 teaching load with a primary focus on undergraduate instruction in Dance. This is a one‑year visiting appointment, with duties centered on studio teaching and student engagement. The position requires regular, in‑person instruction and active participation in departmental activities. Primary duties will include teaching undergraduate dance courses, including technique, choreography, and theory, while maintaining excellence in studio and classroom instruction. Develop course materials, assess student learning, and provide mentoring and academic advising. Choreograph and/or direct departmental performances and participate in production activities. Contribute to curriculum development and program initiatives. Engage in departmental, college, and university service. Support student recruitment and retention efforts. Duties also include recruiting students and apply for external funding to support student activities. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace. Required Qualifications
The successful candidate must hold a earned Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Dance from an accredited institution. Demonstrated success in teaching dance at the collegiate or professional level, with ability to instruct multiple techniques such as ballet, modern, jazz, flamenco, contemporary. Professional experience as a performer, choreographer, or dance artist is required. Evidence of effective teaching, strong communication skills, and engagement with students of various backgrounds is essential. We strongly encourage candidates with the ability to acquire external funding. We strongly encourage candidates with experience/specialization in Flamenco and Ballet Folklorico is a plus.
