The visiting student will work on the project of hybrid magnonic devices. Particularly, the student will work on cryogenic magneto-optic measurements of YIG crystals in couple with superconducting resonators for exploring microwave-to-optic transduction. The job also requires close collaborations and coordinated work with multiple project team members within Argonne and in different universities.

Education and Experience Requirements

The job requires performing microwave and optic experiments. Skills in ferromagnetic resonance, cryogenic system operation, and nanofabrication are also needed. In addition, the job requires skills in python coding, lab research experience, and knowledge in condensed matter physics, quantum mechanics, electric circuits, and proper mathematics knowledge.

• The entirety of the appointment must be conducted within the United States.

• Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.

• Applicants must be:

o Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.

o Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or

o Actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
