    Job Description

    The position will be an immersive research internship at the Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) of Argonne National Laboratory. CNM provides advanced user-facility capabilities in focused ion beam-scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS), and nanoscale characterization. These capabilities are directly relevant to the student's PhD project on solid-state lithium batteries, where interfacial reactions, wetting behavior, void formation, phase evolution, and microstructural changes strongly control electrochemical performance and failure

    Education and Experience Requirements

    • Proficient on FIB-SEM and transmission electron microscopy.

    • Entirety of appointment must be conducted in the United States.

    • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.

    • Applicant must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
