The Briarcliff Manor SD is seeking an eager and highly qualified Visual Arts teacher to join our dynamic team of educators and fulfill our mission of providing students with an outstanding education and to develop each student's capacity to put their thoughts and aspirations into action.

Position: Visual Arts Teacher

Part - Time: 0.6 FTE

Tenure-track: Yes

Location: Briarcliff High School (Grades 9-12)

Effective Date: September 2026

Certification Required: New York State Visual Arts (Pre K-12)

Salary: Briarcliff Teachers' Association Collective Bargaining Agreement

Ideal Qualifications of a Candidate:

  • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) and/or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of art history, with interest and/or experience teaching AP Art History preferred
  • Experience teaching a variety of high school Visual Arts courses, including upper-level courses such as AP Art and Design Portfolio and University in the High School (UHS)-level coursework, preferred
  • A variety of visual arts experiences and instructional backgrounds are welcome, including ceramics, drawing, painting, mixed media, and other studio art disciplines
  • Experience with computer graphics and digital art instruction is a plus
  • Ability to work productively and collaboratively with faculty, students, and parents
  • Passion for fostering creativity, artistic exploration, and student growth in a supportive learning environment
