    Position: Coordinator Assignment: Visual Content Coordinator Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports to: Chief of Staff & Community Relations Pay Grade: AP630/240 Days Dept./School: Communications Date Revised: Fall 2026 Primary Purpose: Serve as the Communications Department's lead for visual content operations and brand execution across digital and print communications to advance district branding and marketing goals. This role balances high-level graphic design and collateral development with visual story gathering to elevate districtwide communications. Qualifications: Minimum Education/Certification: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, or related field preferred Special Knowledge/Skills/Experience: Experience in communications, public relations, or content marketing Exceptional written communication skills with a strong editorial instinct for clarity, tone, and audience-appropriate messaging Advanced proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage content calendars, editorial workflows, and multiple deadlines simultaneously Proficiency in email marketing and newsletter platforms (e.g., Messages XR, Smore, or similar) Working knowledge of layout and design principles, with the ability to structure content for readability and visual consistency Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) and basic web publishing best practices Familiarity with social media platforms and content scheduling tools Organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments and campuses Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and deadlines

    Major Responsibilities and Duties: Serve as the lead designer of creative visual strategies for communications and marketing materials to support key district and campus initiatives Oversee end-to-end design and production for digital, print, and advertising media ensuring brand consistency across district Develop and manage brand-aligned Canva templates for campus and department staff to maintain brand integrity Create layouts and structural designs for major district publications, community reports and program toolkits Plan, prepare, design, and execute the design of graphic artwork including, but not limited to, digital graphics for web and social media, brochures, billboards, digital and print ads, newsletters, displays, charts, posters, banners, forms and promotional materials Design and structure high-stakes presentations and visual tools for leadership, translating complex information into clear visual narratives Develop internal and external communication goals aligned with the district's vision and mission Research and remain abreast of innovative materials, methods, and techniques related to graphic design Maintain and apply LISD communications style guidelines across materials, serving as a resource for usage, and brand voice questions Collaborate on story leads to capture photography and graphic stories featuring classroom engagement and initiatives Translate daily activities and campus highlights into graphic features and photo series that showcase initiatives. Use professional expertise and skill to capture and edit high-quality images; including candid images, event coverage, headshot portraits, structures, etc., especially to enhance design projects Pre-stage draft visual posts, graphics, and media assets within district's social publishing tools to assist team with calendar flow Work with district, department, and campus administrators to gather content and ensure communication needs are met for events, programs, and district announcements Support the development and maintenance of a district communications calendar to coordinate messaging across platforms and audiences Assist in the scheduling and execution of content across district-managed accounts, ensuring accurate and timely publication in alignment with the communications calendar Support content development and copywriting for district social media channels, as assigned Support special events and district initiatives as needed, including providing on-site communications assistance Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Use of standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching Occasional lifting and handling materials/boxes (ability to lift 20 pounds) May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress OTHER: All employees are to follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
