Visual Designer

BlueWave is hiring a Visual Designer for a technology and creative services client based in Southern California. As Visual Designer, you will develop original visual concepts and communication materials across digital and physical applications. You will transform complex ideas into clear visual narratives while collaborating with designers and business stakeholders on branding, presentations, events, and internal communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop original visual concepts that communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively
• Create brand identities, presentation systems, event materials, templates, digital assets, and supporting documentation
• Build executive presentations from initial narrative development through final visual production
• Adapt creative work across established brands while maintaining consistency and quality
• Contribute to the development of design standards, style guides, templates, and reusable patterns
• Collaborate with visual, product, user experience, and interface designers on shared initiatives
• Present design concepts and explain creative decisions to stakeholders and executives
• Develop work plans, estimate design efforts, manage deadlines, and communicate dependencies
• Participate in design critiques, process improvements, and collaborative team projects
• Explore new approaches to visual storytelling and communication challenges

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating visual design, brand development, and presentation design
• Experience creating corporate communications and executive-level presentations
• Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud applications
• Experience with presentation tools such as PowerPoint, Keynote, or Figma Slides
• Ability to develop presentation narratives in addition to refining visual design
• Strong understanding of typography, composition, visual hierarchy, and brand consistency
• Ability to confidently present concepts and articulate design decisions
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple assignments
• Experience designing branding for digital products, events, or internal organizations
• Experience with motion design, basic video editing, user interface design, or web design is preferred

Employment Type: Contract, onsite in Southern California, with potential for full-time conversion
