Visual Designer/Producer

JOB SUMMARY: As a Visual Designer/Producer, you will be responsible for creating compelling visual content that effectively communicates our brands value and products to business customers. Your role includes production of video and photo content to support digital advertising, social media, marketing automation, and website content, to position the organization, generate awareness, and generate in-store/web traffic and sales leads to enhance the customer experience and the Western States/Cat brand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Safety

• Actively cares, promotes, manages, and advocates safety at Western States. As a leader and team member in the organization, it is critical to ensure all employees, vendors, and clients have a safe work environment while adhering to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
• Maintains clean/clutter free work areas to ensure safe environment for all WSECO employees.
• Adhering to required personal protective equipment (PPE) as identified in safety policy.

Marketing & Creative Strategy

• Produce high-quality videos and photos to align with internal and external messaging needs of a high-performing Caterpillar dealer, suitable for website, social media, presentation, YouTube and other platforms.
• Produce authentic, low-production video (e.g., social media) in alignment with the organization's messaging needs.
• Edit and produce videos using Adobe Premiere Pro and other editing software (Canva, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects).
• Work with the marketing team and other stakeholders to develop visual content for social media, website, and other marketing channels.
• Collaborate with the enterprise and operational departments to create product videos and demos.
• Manage and maintain all photography and videography equipment.
• Stay aware of trends in video and photo production to ensure the organization remains on the forefront of marketing design trends.
• Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials. Recommends multiple concepts by studying information and materials. Obtains approval of concept by assignee.
• Video production, including post-production tasks which include reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, audio and color, and final editing. Manages setting up lights, cameras and sound equipment for live video and photo shoots as needed.
• Creates storyboards when necessary, within corporate guidelines/standards.
• Manages multiple projects at once with the ability to articulate design concepts internally and cross-functionally.
• Completes projects at the direction of the Vice President of Marketing or other designated manager within Western States.
• Safeguards the Cat and Western States brand identities as per established guidelines and expectations.
• Seeks educational opportunities in latest marketing products and trends to enhance knowledge and skill.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

• Advanced skills in computer design software (Adobe CC) required along with deep understanding of graphic design and type setting. A strong knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, AfterEffects, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and PC operations is required. Basic web development/editing such as HTML and CSS a bonus.
• Ability to apply designs into all media channels required.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage a substantial workload. This includes being able to complete jobs in a timely manner or on a specified deadline.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Consistent attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Design, Communication or related professional courses preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' experience designing and producing print and video/interactive content required. (Preference given to Equipment industry experience)
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English), Spanish would be a plus.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
• Some exposure to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Safe Work Practice to include amount and approach.
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
