Amazon is looking for an enthusiastic Visual Designer to join the Workplace Health and Safety Team. We're not an average company, and this is definitely not your average position. We'll give you the opportunity to make a difference in our safety engagement across the globe. At Amazon, we obsess over the safety of our people and partners - they are our customers. Our people trust us because we provide a safe work environment. Our commitment to deliver the best technologies and practices meets and exceeds expectations. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright, and driven people. If you"d like to help us educate and empower the people who care for and deliver on our customer promise - we need you.

We are seeking a Sr. Visual Designer who brings strategic thinking and creative problem-solving to every brief - someone who challenges conventions, draws on deep visual language expertise, and arrives with bold, fresh ideas that can scale local safety programs to a global audience. You will use the power of design to simplify complex technical safety concepts and make them relatable and accessible to employees worldwide. Self-driven and credible, you will sit in front of stakeholders and subject matter experts from diverse safety backgrounds and regions -pitching concepts, proposing alternative solutions, and confidently providing guidance when needed to preserve brand authenticity and design integrity. You will become fluent in Amazon and safety brand standards, serving as an expert to verify asset compliance - whether developed in-house or by external agencies.

Key job responsibilities

Translate complex technical documents and safety concepts into clear, compelling visual elements that support multimedia, brand, and learning initiatives

Create illustrations and design assets for a variety of products including marketing campaigns, physical installations, and communication materials

Apply deep knowledge of design principles - including typography, composition, scale, and color theory - to produce stylized graphics, on-brand visuals, and layout and template design

Deliver design work that consistently raises the bar and optimizes for operational excellence and best practices

Work across partner teams (marketing, engineering, business leads, product and program management) to meet shared goals and influence outcomes beyond the immediate team

Present ideas and visual concepts to senior leaders and broader stakeholder groups, using sound judgment in communication and design artifacts

Manage trade-offs between time, quality, and resources; make informed decisions on when to resolve issues independently versus escalate

Contribute to team knowledge-sharing and process improvement

Discuss client and stakeholder needs, identify target audiences, and develop visual ideas that suit the brief

Contribute to and follow WHS visual style standards and brand guidelines

Work with production vendors to acquire estimates, approve samples, and ensure delivered materials are consistent with original artwork and mockups

About the Company

A

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
