Randolph Community Middle School seeks a full time licensed Art Teacher to provide services to our diverse population of middle school aged students.
The Art Teacher is responsible for facilitating student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and by implementing district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, and goals.
The ideal candidate will:
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Promote equity and appreciation of diversity
- Maintain classroom management
- Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement
- Plan and deliver effective instruction to students in the grades 6-8, by instructing the basic principles of art and its history through hands-on interaction with students, including the delivery artistic concepts in various types of visual communication; drawing, painting, ceramics and design.
- Deliver and/or modify art curriculum in alignment with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks
- Demonstrate creativity in preparing materials and projects designed for students with a wide range of abilities, ages and grades (6-8)
- Utilize varied teaching practices to respond to multiple learning styles including students with IEP's and 504 plans, as well as other special needs accommodations.
- Employ multiple assessment methods to measure students' knowledge and skills
- Foster an awareness and an appreciation of other cultures and multicultural art education
- Facilitate 3 school based art shows as well as contest opportunities
- Guide students towards portfolio development
- All other duties as assigned
