JOB DESCRIPTION

Visual Matrix is seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to serve as the company''s senior-most internal finance resource and own the day-to-day finance and accounting function.

This role is ideal for an accounting-first finance professional who enjoys operating hands-on in a lean environment. You will own core accounting and finance responsibilities, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, billing, cash management, and financial operations.

You will help maintain and continuously improve the financial infrastructure required to run a disciplined SaaS business. You will ensure accurate and timely financials, maintain practical forecasting and reporting processes, strengthen financial controls, and identify opportunities to simplify or automate manual workflows.

Initially, this role will assess the existing finance processes and determine how best to leverage internal systems, outsourced resources, and the broader ASG finance ecosystem. This is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to own the finance function while receiving support and exposure across ASG''s portfolio of software companies. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

• Serve as Visual Matrix''s senior-most internal finance resource, taking hands-on ownership of the company''s accounting and finance operations.
• Own the monthly close, general ledger, financial reporting, billing, cash management, and other recurring accounting processes.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting and maintain visibility into key SaaS metrics and business performance.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting that gives company leadership and ASG clear visibility into the business.
• Improve financial controls, reporting processes, and finance systems by leveraging technology, automation, and AI-enabled workflows where appropriate.
• Manage and coordinate with outsourced accounting resources and external partners as needed.
• Partner with the CEO, company leaders, and ASG''s broader finance organization to solve problems and support sound financial decision-making.
• Continuously improve and document finance processes to create a reliable, efficient, and well-run function.

We''re Excited About You Because:

• You have strong accounting and finance experience, ideally within a B2B SaaS, software, or technology business.
• You possess a strong foundation in GAAP accounting and have meaningful experience owning or driving month-end close and financial reporting.
• You have working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, and churn.
• You are comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor and doing the detailed work required to keep a finance function running effectively.
• You have experience improving financial processes, systems, controls, or reporting in a lean or resource-constrained environment.
• You possess strong communication skills and can translate financial information into clear, practical insights for business leaders.
• You are curious about technology and excited to learn how AI and automation can improve finance workflows. Prior AI experience is not required.
• You possess a proactive, solution-oriented mindset and consistently demonstrate an "I''ll figure it out" approach.
• You are humble, coachable, resourceful, and excited by the ownership that comes with being the senior-most internal finance resource at a smaller software company.

Other Information

Location: New York City preferred. Remote within the United States will also be considered, with regular travel for executive leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, Board meetings, and company events.

Base Salary Range: The target salary range for this position is ($130,000- $150,000), and is part of a competitive total rewards package including an annual bonus, employer-paid benefits, L&D stipend and incentive pay for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
