Position Title: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (Part-Time, around 20-22 hours per week) Location: Evanston, IL School Year: 2026–2027
About the Role: We are seeking a Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team for the upcoming school year. This part-time position (approximately 20–22 hours per week) offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students with visual impairments in achieving academic success and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff to promote inclusive practices.
Monitor student progress and maintain compliance with state and district requirements.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs.
Commitment to fostering student independence and achievement.
