Overview
The Vermont Department of Health (VDH) has an exciting opportunity available for a qualified candidate who is interested in Vital Records, Vital Statistics, and data systems. VDH is currently hiring a Vital Statistics Information Manager in the Division of Health Statistics and Informatics. This position oversees Vermont''s Vital Records and Statistics program. The ideal candidate will have knowledge or familiarity with vital records, data systems, data management, program management, contract/grant management, public health and information technology processes.
The Vital Statistics Information Manager oversees the development, maintenance and reporting of Vermont''s Vital Records systems. The Information Manager is responsible for the data collected in the various vital records applications, maintaining the databases that hold the data, and for the statistical and other uses of data and information within those systems. Some required duties are as follows:
The position operates in Health Statistics and Informatics Division and reports to Division Director. The Vital Statistics Information Manager is expected to work with key staff such as Registry Managers, program staff and data analysts, and Agency of Digital Services (ADS) staff. This is a supervisory position. Knowledge of Vermont statutes is desired but not required.
The Department of Health supports a work-life balance. Following the orientation period, this position will be eligible for a hybrid schedule and be based in the Waterbury VT office.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting. Meetings with data users and providers may require some travel, for which private means of transportation must be available. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Master''s degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Public Administration, or a Social Sciences discipline AND six (6) years of professional level work in health-related research, statistics or program evaluation where the activities include data collection planning, systems implementation, and data quality management, including at least three (3) years supervising.
OR
Bachelor''s degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a health-related or social sciences discipline, including 12 college credits in statistics, research or computer sciences AND eight (8) years of professional level work in health-related research, statistics or program evaluation where the activities include data collection planning, systems implementation, and data quality management, including at least four (4) years supervising.
