Title: VMware & Network Systems Administrator

Location: Harrisburg, PA (2 Days Onsite Per Week)

Duration: 12 Months

Job Summary: 

Client is seeking an experienced VMware Systems Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in VMware and networking systems administration. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and maintenance of the agency's enterprise infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in VMware technologies, server administration, networking, Active Directory, backup and recovery, and systems lifecycle management. The candidate should be capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical infrastructure systems.

 

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of VMware administration experience.
  • 5+ years of networking systems administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware products:
    • vSphere
    • vCenter
    • vSAN
    • NSX
    • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
    • Log Insight
  • Experience administering physical and virtual server environments.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Experience supporting Red Hat Linux and Linux-based appliances.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining complex enterprise systems.
  • Systems optimization and performance tuning experience.
  • Patch management and infrastructure lifecycle planning experience.
  • Project management and delivery experience.
  • Active Directory administration.
  • DHCP administration and DNS administration.
  • Data backup and disaster recovery experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to respond to technical or emergency issues outside normal business hours.

  • VMware Cloud infrastructure modernization experience.
