Description
Executive Summary:
Our client is seeking a VMware System Engineer with a Full Scope Polygraph to support a mission-critical environment in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role will be instrumental in redesigning and optimizing VMware infrastructure as the organization transitions to a Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
The ideal candidate is a Maryland resident holding an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, with proven expertise in VMware vCenter and system administration, and hands-on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment.
Position Description:
The VMware Engineer will lead architectural design, system migration, and administration of VMware environments, ensuring secure, optimized, and scalable operations.
The role requires close collaboration with network, storage, and security teams while driving automation, optimization, and standardization across platforms.
Required Qualifications:
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
Deep knowledge and experience with VMware vCenter and VMware system administration.
Experience migrating from VMware 7.x to 8.x.
Hands-on experience with Cisco switches, VPNs, VLANs, and server deployment.
Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration, including patching and sustainment.
Familiarity with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Power Distribution Units (PDU).
Knowledge of enclave security and firewall technologies (e.g., VMware NSX, Cisco ASA).
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with VMware NSX.
Knowledge of Hardware as a Service (HWaaS) platform.
Strong background in system optimization, automation, and infrastructure design.
Ability to translate customer requirements into secure, production-ready solutions.
