Title: VMware Virtualization Engineer (Contract / Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Remote – must reside near a Company office

Company is seeking experienced VMware Virtualization Engineers to support our growing portfolio of customer projects and internal initiatives. This role will work across modern VMware technologies including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria Operations, Aria Automation, Tanzu/Kubernetes, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can design, implement, and support virtualization solutions, collaborate with customers and internal teams, and operate comfortably in a fast-paced consulting/services environment.
Design, implement, and support VMware vSphere and vSAN environments across multiple customer environments.
Deploy, configure, and manage NSX (NSX-T/NSX-V as applicable), including micro-segmentation, routing, and distributed firewall.
Utilize Aria Operations for monitoring, performance analysis, capacity planning, and alerting.
Leverage Aria Automation to build or maintain automation workflows, blueprints, and self-service catalogs where applicable.
Implement and support Tanzu / Kubernetes clusters, including deployment, configuration, upgrades, and day-2 operations.
Work with VCF Manager to manage and maintain VCF-based environments, including lifecycle management, workload domains, and integration with underlying infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, network, and virtualization layers.
Collaborate with Company architects, engineers, and customer stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Document designs, configurations, and operational procedures; contribute to best practices and knowledge sharing.
Participate in on-call or after-hours work as needed for critical changes and escalations.
3–7+ years of hands-on experience in VMware virtualization engineering (vSphere, vSAN).
Practical experience with NSX (NSX-T preferred): configuration, routing, micro-segmentation, and troubleshooting.
Experience with Aria Operations (formerly vRealize Operations) for monitoring and performance management.
Exposure to or experience with Aria Automation (vRealize Automation) – building or supporting automation workflows, blueprints, or self-service provisioning.
Working knowledge of Tanzu and/or Kubernetes in an enterprise setting (cluster deployment, upgrades, operations).
Experience with VCF Manager and understanding of VCF architecture, or strong willingness to ramp quickly.
Strong troubleshooting skills across virtualization, storage, and networking.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
U.S. Citizenship (required by customer/engagement).
Relevant VMware certifications (e.g., VCP-DCV, VCAP, VCF Specialist, NSX certifications).
Experience working in a consulting, MSP, or systems integrator environment.
Experience with automation/scripting (PowerCLI, PowerShell, Python, etc.).
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) integrated with VMware solutions is a plus.
Engagement Type: Contract, with potential for Contract-to-Hire after ~3–6 months based on performance, business need, and mutual fit.
Location: Remote, with potential occasional travel to Company offices or customer sites as needed.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience (to be discussed with recruiter).
