The specialist coordinates employment services, develops community jobs, works with employers to ensure quality placement, partners with outside agencies, and cooperatively works with treatment sites to establish mutual outcomes.Location456 N Bannock St.CompensationVocational II – $30.12/hrVocational Counselor III – $31.25/hrLanguage differential – $2.50/hr for bilingual proficiency in Spanish & ASLResponsibilitiesDevelop competitive community jobs and skill‑building activities needed to attain employment.Provide consistent vocational assessments to help clients succeed in jobs.Identify programs and eligibility to ensure access for clients.Work closely with employers to coach clients and provide interventions.Research and develop community contacts for job placements.Complete reporting for program measurements.Coordinate with clinical teams and therapists regarding vocational objectives.Find employment for diverse populations with serious and persistent mental illness.Work in the community 60 % of the time.Demonstrate public relations and community organizational skills.Show ability to develop programs.Work with clients who have severe and persistent mental illness.Analyze information, formulate work plans, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans.QualificationsVocational II: Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation or related field.Vocational III: Master's degree in vocational rehabilitation or related field plus at least one year of experience in a vocational rehabilitation setting, or relevant experience with these duties.Physical & Mental DemandsStanding, walking, stooping, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs; repetitive hand/finger motions; manual dexterity; visual and auditory acuity; capacity to handle emotionally charged situations and maintain professional boundaries; critical thinking and problem‑solving for treatment planning; prioritization of multiple tasks and adaptation to changing client needs.Working ConditionsExposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, chemicals; use of personal protective equipment. Requires regular computer use. May involve occasional evening or weekend hours. Fast‑paced and emotionally demanding work environment.
