REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local community colleges, universities, vocational schools, and community agencies to create pathways for students with disabilities.
  • Organize college fairs, campus tours, and information sessions on campus to connect students with representatives from these institutions, providing them with firsthand knowledge of post-secondary opportunities.
  • Schedule and host workshops and guest speaker events with professionals from various industries, local businesses, and community organizations to expose students to diverse career options.
  • Work closely with colleges and community agencies to bring their resources and services onto the high school campus, offering students and families direct access to transition-related support.
  • Assist students in identifying career interests and potential job placements through assessments, internships, job shadowing, and work experience programs.
  • Collaborate with local businesses and community organizations to secure job opportunities and internships, ensuring that students gain real-world experience in their chosen fields.
  • Guide students and families through the application processes for colleges, vocational programs, and scholarships, ensuring they have access to necessary accommodations and support services.
  • Coordinate with Disability Services Offices at post-secondary institutions to facilitate a smooth transition for students with IEPs, ensuring they receive appropriate support and resources.
  • Collaborate with community partners to track post-secondary success and provide ongoing support for students as they transition out of high school.

Possession of a valid California Education Specialist Credential. CLAD Certificate/English Learner authorization or equivalent is required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

All employment offers are conditional, based upon the successful completion of the following: Fingerprint/background clearance, and a tuberculosis clearance. A physical examination clearance is required for certain positions for the district. All candidates with a record of convictions must indicate such on the confidential/legal section of the application, which is attached to the job application. A record of conviction will not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment, but a failure to list all convictions may result in disqualification or dismissal.
