## Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
To assist residents in obtaining necessary vocational skills, interests and work attitudes in order to secure employment/educational opportunities through face-to-face contacts in conjunction with inter-disciplinary team and service plan.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Conduct comprehensive vocational and educational assessments, including skills evaluation, work history review, credential analysis, and identification of employment or educational barriers.
- Develop individualized short- and long-term vocational and educational goals aligned with each residents service plan.
- Facilitate employability workshops and groups covering job readiness, workplace expectations, financial literacy, communication, and career development; provide individualized support as needed.
- Plan and lead recreational and enrichment activities that promote vocational/educational growth, teamwork, communication, and overall well-being.
- Identify and address barriers to employment or education, including scheduling conflicts, mental or medical limitations, childcare needs, and legal challenges.
- Build and maintain partnerships with employers, training programs, educational institutions, GED providers, and workforce agencies to support referrals for jobs, internships, apprenticeships, and credentialing.
- Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences and provide progress updates, outcome data, and professional recommendations.
- Collaborate with internal interdisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated services and interventions.
- Track and report key performance indicators such as job placements, retention, educational enrollment, and credential attainment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress notes, outcomes, and program metrics in compliance with regulatory and funding requirements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

- Location: Bronx, NY 10460
- Schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
- Wednesday: 10:00am - 6:00pm
- Schedule subject to change based on program needs. Requires flexibility.
## Rate & Benefits
- Rate: $45,000-$46,000 annually

## Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
The Vocational Educational Specialist is required to have a Bachelors in Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, etc. or be a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
- Applicant should have experience working with the homeless population.
- Knowledge of working with individuals and families in recovery from substance abuse, as well as individuals and families with active substance use disorders and chronic mental illness.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
- Possess strong decision-making, analytical, and organization skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Knowledgeable in Foothold AWARDS case management software or comfortable with case management software.
Salary Description: $45,000-$46,000 annually
